Even at the age of 75. Thelma was very vivacious and full of life. Whcn her husband passed away, her children suggested that she move to a "senior living community." A gregarious‘a(chǎn)nd life-loving person. Thelma decided to do so.
已經(jīng)75歲的西爾瑪依舊十分活躍，富有朝氣在她丈夫過(guò)世之后，她的兒女們建議她搬去老人社區(qū)生活西爾瑪是一個(gè)喜歡辛卜交、熱愛(ài)生活的人，欣然接受兒女們的建議.
Shortly after moving in,Thelma became a self-appointed activities director, coordinating all sorts of things for the people in the community to do and quickly became very popular and made many friends.
搬進(jìn)老人社區(qū)后不久，西爾瑪自動(dòng)請(qǐng)纓，成為各項(xiàng)活動(dòng)的組織者，負(fù)責(zé)為社區(qū)居民協(xié)調(diào)各類事務(wù)，很快便贏得了社區(qū)居民的喜歡，也結(jié)交了很多新朋友.
When Thclma turned 80, her newfound friends showed their appreciation by throwing a surprise birthday party fur her. When Thelma entered the dining room for dinner that night, she was greeted by a standing ovation and one of the coordinators led her to the head table. The night was filled with laughter and entcrtainmnt. but throughout the evening ,Thelma could not take her eyes off a gentleman sitting at the other end of the table.
西爾瑪80歲生11那天，她那些新交的朋友為表示對(duì)她的感謝，決定給她辦一個(gè)驚喜生日派對(duì)。當(dāng)西爾瑪像平常一樣去餐廳吃晚餐時(shí)，餐廳內(nèi)所有的人都站起來(lái)歡迎她，一位組織者將她引到上座入座。整個(gè)晚宴充滿歡聲笑語(yǔ)，大家都很盡興，但整個(gè)晚上，西爾瑪?shù)难劬Χ疾辉x開過(guò)坐在桌子另一端的那位老先生。
When the festivities ended, Thelma quickly rose from her seat and rushed over to the man"Pardon me," Thelma said, "Please forgive me if I made you feel uncomfortable by staring at you all night. I just couldn’t help myself from looking your way. You see, you look just like my fifth husband."
宴會(huì)結(jié)束后，西爾瑪馬上起身，走到那位老先生面前?！皩?duì)不起”，西爾瑪說(shuō)到，“今晚我一直盯著你看，如果這讓你很不舒服的話，希望你能原諒我，但我實(shí)在沒(méi)法忍住，總想要朝你所在的方向看。你知道為什么嗎，因?yàn)槟愫臀业牡谖迦握煞蛱嘞窳?”
"Your fifth husband!" replied the gentleman. "Forgive me for asking, but how many times have you been married?"
“第五任丈夫!”那位老先生說(shuō)道，“那么請(qǐng)?jiān)徫疫@一問(wèn)，你結(jié)過(guò)幾次婚呢?”
With that, a smile came across Thelma’s face as she responded, "Four."
這時(shí)，西爾瑪笑容滿面地回答:"4次?！?/p>
They were married shortly after.
不久后他們就結(jié)婚了。
